About
Rina Kim is an American visual artist working primarily in oil painting and mixed media. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she studied theater and studio art at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, where she developed a fascination for European medieval aesthetics and religious imagery. Upon graduating from Mount Holyoke, she moved to Florence, Italy to study traditional oil painting techniques, which she now incorporates into her work. Rina’s current artistic direction involves painting everyday, oft-forgotten objects completely from observation, placing them in a new context and narrative. Rina lives and works in New York City, USA.
